PEGATRON 2022 O-RAN Spring PlugFest with 5G Energy-Savings Solution

Pegatron announced today that the 2022 O-RAN alliance Spring PlugFest conference held by Auray's Open Test and Integration Center (OTIC) reveals its development status for 5G private networks.
Pegatron has committed to invest enormous high-quality hardware and software resources into 5G O-RAN product development since 2020 and has aimed for vertical applications with products that comply with the 3GPP and O-RAN specifications. With progressing developments in NFVI, network slicing, AI edge computing, and network management system (O-RAN SMO and Near-Real Time RIC), Pegatron is aiming for various 5G private network scenarios such as smart factory, smart transportation, and digital resilience.
Using Pegatron's self-developed end-to-end private network solution, traffic models for different usage scenarios were presented. Functional, load/stress, and security tests were completed to meet the 3GPP Security Assurance Specification (SCAS) and O-RAN standards.
At the 2022 O-RAN Alliance Spring PlugFest, Pegatron presented another topic of global concern which is “Energy savings”. CY Feng, General Manager of BU6 at Pegatron Corporation, said “In addition to 5G private network products, Pegatron also invested many resources to develop effective energy-savings and carbon-reduction management solutions.” The 5G Energy-Savings, jointly developed with ITRI, can monitor traffic distribution of base stations and terminal devices through intelligent algorithms to put lower utilized base stations to sleep. This energy-savings solution also won the "SCF Small Cell Awards 2022" in London, UK for outstanding software and service technology.
Pegatron will continue focusing on actions and events in O-RAN alliance and accomplish more 5G private network scenarios. At the same time, Pegatron will cooperate with partners to drive Taiwan's 5G private network industries forward on a global scale
